Description

These cranberry cookies are the perfect balance of sweet and tart with a chewy, soft texture. Packed with tangy dried cranberries and a hint of fresh orange zest, they’re an irresistible treat for any occasion, whether it’s for the holidays or a simple afternoon snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Butter (softened)
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Add-ins:

  • 1 1/2 cups Dried cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon Orange zest
  • 1/2 cup White chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Cream the butter and sugars
In a large bowl, beat together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).

  • Add eggs and vanilla
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.

  • Combine dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  • Add cranberries and orange zest
Gently fold in the dried cranberries and orange zest (and white chocolate chips if you’re using them).

  • Scoop and bake
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

  • Cool and serve
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes to prevent the cookies from spreading too much.
  • Use softened butter for easy mixing and to get that perfect chewy texture.
  • If you want thicker cookies, chill the dough before baking.
